I had my doubts when I received this by parcel with its brown nondescript packaging. But it was dissipated upon opening it for the first time. The aroma is similar to the decaf being sold by a well-known roaster with heftier price tag. The appearance of the beans is similar to the decaf (that's always out of stock) of another reputable roaster albeit offered at the same price. The taste notes does not disappoint. In fact, it's high-quality beans that's expertly roasted to highlight its nutty and chocolatey flavor notes, with a hint of sweetness. The only think I could be picky about was the roasting date as I got the beans 1.5 months after roasting. Overall, this is a good buy.
First of all, it's definitely decaf, so that's good. Doesn't keep me up. Flavor-wise, it's neither bold and bitter like a conventional coffee nor particularly interesting like specialty coffee. Neither the roast nor the flavor stands out and the aroma when opening the bag is noticeably underwhelming. It's kind of... bland and a little nutty maybe? Maybe this will go well with milk drinks! I only brewed black and the best cups I got out of it were with a moka pot and Turkish because of the extra strength. For filter and Aeropress I couldn't get a cup I really liked.
Beginner's notes: hits the right spot in the day when you just want to taste good coffee without the worry of overcaffeinating! Notes are on point, cacao and raisin. Definitely one of the best decaf beans.
Definitely a tasty brew without the jolt!
Enjoyed it with dessert before bed.
Turned out having a strong nutty and chocolatey flavor. Brewed it with the Kalita Tsubame 185, 91degrees, 90clicks on the Kingrinder K6.
